After days of steady travel through the underway, with no sign of pursuit and only the endless rhythm of corridors, exits, and campsites to mark the passing time, Cullen and the others settle in beside a working fire. Farthen shares a powerful dwarven family spirit known as the Seeing Salts, and for one rare evening the tension breaks. Songs are traded. Laughter returns. Old grief softens at the edges.
But relief never lasts for long beneath Direth.
When the fire burns low and the group drifts toward sleep, the night turns. Strange sounds rise at the barricades. The sunstone shows a full Luna where none should be. Claws scrape at the doors, howls answer from both directions, and the company is forced awake into another fight for survival.

In S06E11 — Sefla’s Deep, the company is forced out of the underway and back into the open world.
After a morning shaped by strange dreams, quiet questions, and the lingering effects of the Seeing Salts, Cullen and the others press onward through the underground route — only to find the way ahead completely collapsed. With no path forward beneath the earth, DagGar scouts a narrow route through the debris and discovers an escape leading out toward Sefla’s Deep, a massive sinkhole that swallowed an entire settlement decades before.
What follows is a dangerous climb through a cramped stone passage, a steep rope descent onto a cliff path, and a breathtaking return to open air. But even outside Direth, the threat has not vanished. From the rim of the Deep, the company can still see the glow of the thinning in the north.
Book 3 continues with height, exhaustion, wonder, and the growing sense that there may be no easy way back to the world they thought they knew.

After emerging from the underway and skirting the edge of Sefla’s Deep, Cullen, Sharael, Cair, Shawn, Farthen, and DagGar arrive at a bustling roadside inn where food, music, small beer, and familiar road-weary comfort offer a brief return to ordinary life. But even in laughter and song, tension moves beneath the surface.
Sharael’s jealousy catches her off guard. Cullen’s care remains steady. Cair watches more than he says. And by the time the night narrows down to a private room, moonlight, and quiet conversation, the real conflict of the episode is no longer external.
